"Glory Road" to Tolerance



This article shares the story of developing tolerance in college basketball. In 1966, UTEP -- then known as Texas Western College -- changed the face of collegiate athletics by starting an all-black lineup for the first time in NCAA championship history. The Miners, led by Hall of Fame Coach Don Haskins, upset the University of Kentucky 72-65 for the national title. The win symbolized a breakthrough for blacks into college sports.

Alcohol-Free Pregnancy


Alcohol consumed during pregnancy can lead to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). There is no safe amount of alcohol a woman can drink while pregnant. Therefore, it is recommended that women abstain from drinking alcohol at any time during pregnancy.
